Healthtech/SUM is a global conference which introduces the cutting-edge of healthcare-related technologies (healthtech) and its advanced use cases. Amid the recent COVID-19 pandemic, the conference will be held in a hybrid style with on sight and online combined.
Fast growing digitization in medical/healthcare fields across the globe, to accelerate the growthin Japan, the conference will provide opportunities to gather and share the latest knowledge and innovation in the healthtech field not only domestic but also global.

Joint holding of Nikkei and MedPeer
MedPeer ,Inc. operates MedPeer, one of the largest online Doctor-only community in Japan, which has120,000 doctor members (about 1 out of 3 doctors in Japan), and provides such service as medical-related marketing support, doctor research, and online medical consultation.
Since 2015, MedPeer ,Inc. has operated one of the largest healthtech conference “Health 2.0 Asia - Japan” , in order to circulate the ecosystem in the Japanese healthtech industry. In 2019, MedPeer ,Inc. held HIMSS & Health 2.0 Japan 2019 jointly with Nikkei Inc. and HIMSS. We have received high support from both medical and business personnel, and have accumulated a large amount of knowledge from both overseas and domestic innovators. Furthermore, with a track record of supporting numerous startups, in 2020, Nikkei and MedPeer have decided to jointly hold the conference after renaming it to “Healthtech/SUM”.

While COVID-19 has changed the world by exposing "life", which was taken for granted, to danger the value of health is being redefined and more attention is being paid to the healthcare field.
Healthtech is a field which keep people healthy and help people achieve "better lives" with technology. However, technology is not almighty, it’s a simple “solution”.. Dramatic innovation is only realized by looking back at the people who use it.

This year, we will set up a brand new "Virtual Pitch", where each startup will introduce their business overview on the website as well as on the Nikkei newspaper, where anyone can refer to and vote online.
Online Exhibition
The exhibition will be held online this year, to introduce innovations in the medical and healthcare fields, and services using technologies to meet the needs of society. Measures against COVID-19 infection
We will hold a hybrid event, both offline and online, to prevent the risk of spreading infection. This event will be operated in accordance with the implementation guidelines of the Japanese government.
At the venue, we install hand disinfectants, all staff members will be wearing masks, all visitors and guests will be required to take their temperature before entrance, Frequently disinfect equipment such as table, and keep the venue ventilated as much as possible. We will prepare and obey an emergency manual in case we need to contact local health authority.
